Last Days Of American Crime
Customer Reviews
The Last Days of American Crime is an adrenaline-fueled story of societal breakdown. It is the near-future, and America is about to switch on a signal that stops its citizens from thinking thoughts that lead to illegal actions. People flee the country in droves, forcing Mexico and Canada to close their borders. In America, anarchy reigns as people act out every last crime they’ve ever wanted to commit. Among all of the chaos, a small-time criminal has big plans to commit a masterful heist, one that will set him and his partners up for life. The downside? He has to pull it off before the signal is activated.
The first two issues of this book are masterfully written. The art lends to the chaotic feel of the world in the story by bringing the feeling of all hell breaking loose to the reader’s eyes. It can, however, be a bit hard to follow particular characters due to this turbulence in the art. Last Days is a grim story; gore pervades the book, as does very adult content. The book provides surprising commentary on American society and the things that secretly drive us all.
While reading last days, you can’t but help root for the criminal protagonist. He’s surrounded on all sides by dishonorable souls who plan to profit from his hard work. This book is building to something big, and I can’t wait until issue 3 becomes available to find out what that is.
Grab this book now, while you can. The Last Days of American Crime is being made into a major motion picture for release in 2012 and I think you’ll be glad you caught this story when the phenomenon was young.
Happy reading!
