Alright, let’s put it this way: Do you like Irredeemable? Do you really really really like Irredeemable? Then you might like this series.
This is in on all accounts a side story. Other than the fact that it is in the same universe and that eventually it will have something to do with Irredeemable this story achieves nothing in its own right.
Irredeemable is fast paced with plot twists and insane craziness going on everywhere; Every now and then you read something you can’t believe just happened.
Incorruptible is kind of predictable.
I appreciate that he doesn’t get right off involved in the irredeemable series and the paradigm but its been over 10 issues and you haven’t really accomplished anything.
Everyone still hates him, the villains are goofy and altogether pointless. This series claims to be the offshoot of irredeemable and so far other than mild references it barely is so.
It may be Irredeemable built this title up and it didn’t meet my expectations but so far this series is slow, boring, predictable, and lacking in any depth.
The title of the series should’ve gone more like “The fallout of Irredeemable” since it only deals with that and a variety of insignificant characters.
It may also be that there isn’t any mystery. Irredeemable had me hooked on why the Plutonian snapped. This lacked that aspect.
It may be that there isn’t a team in this title. If it is just Max Damage seems to matter in the way of powers; well any of them could die and no one would care. There’s no thrill that at any moment volt will die or samsara.
So here’s what I mean by predicatable. You know how it starts, you know that no one important is going to die, you know everything completely and any plot twists will come straigt out of irredeemable and not here. You also know that it ends with him fighting the Plutonian.
If you know all this then why should you read it?
Or really if you know all this and don’t feel entertained why should you spend $4 an issue? (or 3.19 thanks to the kind folks at heavyink)
What it all comes down to is this: If you like Irredeemable so much you can’t wait for the next issue -then you should buy this.
If not then maybe you should just wait until the series ends and judge it as a whole (perhaps the first ten issues aren’t supposed to be that awe inspiring).
I give this 3 stars.
I’ve read much worse; its not awful but its not good.
