Talisman Road Of Trials

When I first heard of this title, I was SUPER excited that one of my favorite books was going to become a serialized comic. However, once it was in my hands, the disappointment was like a punch to the gut.

I don’t know what it is, but this is NOT “The Talisman”. To be blunt, it’s like a 10 year old took the book and tried to rewrite it and call it his own. Terrible, a travesty in every facet. An absolute mockery of one of the greatest works of fiction of all-time.

Then why the two stars as opposed to one? 1) I cannot fathom one bit who and/or why anyone would give this book a good rating (it’s sitting at slightly over 4 stars as I type) and the idea is so mind-boggling that I have to doubt myself for a moment, and 2) I’m willing to hold out hope for that .001% chance that the book actually turns around, maybe once Stephen King/Peter Straub actually take the time and realize what is being done to their baby.

Bottomline: If you’re a fan of this book AT ALL, stay away from “Road of Trials”.
