My Absolute Favorites

This List is by...

RobertS

This lists's score:

What is this list?

These are the best of the best. My absolute favorite stuff that I can pull off the shelf and reread anytime and still think it’s great. This is the stuff I highly recommend.

Green Lantern Corps - Before 2011 Renumbering
    RobertS says:

I just recently started this series (I started with the Sinestro Corp Wars) and I enjoyed it enough to go back and read all the back issues (hopefully your local library will have the first couple trades; that’s where I found them). I like the idea of teams of Lantern’s working together and the main focus not being on Kyle Rayner, John Stewart and Hal Jordan.

Green Lantern - Before 2011 Renumbering
    RobertS says:

This title just seems to be pure, concentrated awesome. I am super excited about all the foreshadowing for Blackest Night and eagerly waiting for every update.

    Chronicles Of Wormwood
    RobertS says:

Not for the easily offended. Very good. A little short though, which is kind of disappointing.

  • 9.
    Marvel Zombies
    RobertS says:

It’s demented, disgusting and disturbing but it’s still one of the coolest series out there.

  • 8.
    Ultimate Galactus
    RobertS says:

The Ultimate version of everyone’s favorite anti-god. A good companion to this is the Ultimate Vision trade.

  • 7.
    Hulk Planet Hulk
    RobertS says:

If you haven’t read any Hulk before, this is a really good time to jump on. An epic story with an epic length to go with it.

  • 6.
    Fables
    RobertS says:

This series is amazing. I love seeing characters from my childhood thrust into the real world. Every time they introduce a new fable I immediately think back to how I once knew that character. This series lets you feel a great sense of nostalgia and be absolutely terrific at the same time.

    Atomic Robo
    RobertS says:

A newcomer to the comic community, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t awesome. Brian Clevinger’s writing is fantastic and hilarious and Scott Wegener’s art is perfect.

  • 4.
Ultimate Spider Man Clone Saga Premiere
    RobertS says:

If you’re new to Ultimate Spider-Man, I wouldn’t start here. Otherwise I think it’s one of the best story arcs of Ultimate Spider-Man. There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone. I’ll just say: a new twist on a classic villain, a couple great Ultimate versions of Marvel (semi)regulars, and cameos by the Ultimate Fantastic Four!

    Watchmen Tp
    RobertS says:

Of course this is on the list. This is the pinnacle of hero comic books, pretty much the first venture into more mature territory. EVERYONE needs to have read this at least once. At the very least get it from your local library.

  • 2.
    The Boys
    RobertS says:

The content is VERY mature, but VERY awesome. The depth to this world is amazing and I love seeing more and more of everyone with each passing issue.

  • 1.
    Bone One
    RobertS says:

It’s amazing how good Bone is. It’s truly one of the best comics out there and almost anyone can pick it up and enjoy it. I gave the first Bone book to an anti-comic friend of mine and she loved it. She thought the rat creatures were hilarious. Jeff Smith is a genius.
