Top Cow Pilot Season Voting Opens

by Matt at 09:55 AM August 06, 2008 in indie, top cow

Voting is now open for Top Cow’s Pilot Season competition. Out of a series of one-shots, two will be selected to move on to get their own series.

You’ll recall our interview with Adam Freeman on his book Genius. That’s who I voted for, but I’ve also heard good things about a few of the other books, especially the Jay Faerber title.

You can vote once a day, so have at it!

Matt – I added The Core #1, which, on Pete’s recommendation, I just read. I thought it was pretty good.

I only read The Core and Genius, but I liked them both enough to want to see more of them.

Based on copies shipped to customers by HeavyInk, here’s how “voting with actual orders” has broken down so far for the 6 Pilot Season titles:

Lady Pendragon: 6% Twilight Guardian: 14% Genius: 26% Alibi: 6% The Core: 28% Urban Myths: 20%

I also read Genius. It was pretty good, but I liked The Core a little better.

I’m vying for Urban Myths. I really liked how the world was set up in that one and I would like to see more.

Urban Myths sounds cool, and I’m probably being a bit of a jerk for saying this, but it also gives me a Fables-lite vibe. The Core turned me off cause I think Jonathan Hickman’s a bit too wordy for my tastes when it comes to comics. I’m also clearly crazy for thinking that as I know everyone loves his work.

Urban Myths is my #1 choice. I’m a huge fan of Greek Mythology, though…. Genius was pretty solid, too.

My preference is for The Core
